Amazing company that helped deliver very fast results with mold testing. My daughter is in a much safer living situation now. Glenn went above and beyond.

Air, tile, soil and groundwater

What Indevcon samples, reads and treats, from a DeKalb basement to an industrial lot.

Handheld XRF analyzer resting on a lifted vinyl floor tile with black mastic beneath

Asbestos and lead

Floor tile, mastic, XRF

Old floor tile / mastic / linoleum is sampled or read with an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) survey before anyone pulls it up.

Air sampling pump on a tripod with a spore-trap cassette in an attic between rafters

Mold

Spore-trap cassette, attic air

Air and surface analysis in attics, crawlspaces and basements tells you what is growing and how far it has spread.

Blue sample cooler on ice holding amber and clear glass sample jars beside a blank field form

Phase Two

Amber jars on ice

Original samples of soil, groundwater and building materials measure petroleum hydrocarbons, heavy metals, solvents, lead and more.

Rusted steel underground storage tank exposed in a clay excavation pit on a gravel lot

Tanks

Steel UST in clay

UST removal, abandonment, and replacement, with the soil around and beneath the tank tested before the hole is closed.

Soil vapor extraction blower skid with PVC manifold piping and vacuum gauges on a gravel lot

In place

Vapor extraction manifold

Soil vapor extraction, air sparging and multi-phase extraction treat contamination without digging the whole site out.

White PVC sub-slab vapor mitigation pipe rising from a sealed basement floor with a U-tube manometer

Vapor

Sub-slab pipe and manometer

Vapor mitigation keeps soil gas under the slab and out of the rooms people live and work in.

How deep it goes

An environmental site assessment stops as soon as the ground says it can. Most properties end at Phase One. If the site is considered contaminated, a Phase Two may be required, and Phase Three follows only when there is something to delineate.

  1. Phase One

    Records and walk-through

Identifies potential or existing environmental contamination liabilities for the land and the buildings on it: asbestos-containing materials, hazardous substances stored or used on-site, mold or mildew, lead-based paint, and the history of the property and its surroundings.

  2. Phase Two

    Borings, wells, samples

Collects original samples of soil, groundwater or building materials. Soil and groundwater boring, monitoring well construction, paint chips for lead or asbestos, swab samples for mold, and modelling to characterise the site.

  3. Phase Three

    Extent and remedial design

Delineates the physical extent of contamination from the Phase Two report, then designs the remedy, weighing cost and logistics for the most effective restoration of impacted soil and groundwater.

A Phase I identifies potential or existing contamination liabilities from records and a site walk: asbestos-containing materials, hazardous substances stored or used on site, mold, lead-based paint and the history of the property and its surroundings. If the site looks contaminated, a Phase II follows, collecting original samples of soil, groundwater or building materials to measure what is actually there.

No. Indevcon has managed projects from the single-family homeowner to industrial projects over $150,000, and works with real estate agents and brokers, bankers and investors on property transactions.

Finding where the moisture is coming from, identifying the organisms, mapping how far the mold has spread, writing the remediation and moisture-abatement specification, then overseeing the work and sampling again afterwards to confirm it is gone.

Asbestos is banned now, but remains in many existing buildings: floor tile, mastic and linoleum, boiler insulation, pipe insulation and fittings, roofing and siding. Sampling and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) surveys tell you what you have before anyone disturbs it.
